1. Evaluate the appearance of the tape. It should have a flat, flexible, and smooth surface without cracks, scratches, abrasions, creases, or bends.
2. At home, you can test the purchased reflective tape like this. Direct a beam of light towards the tape - if it is of high quality, it will glow brightly. The tape should work from any angle, so try rotating it while keeping the light on it. The retro-reflective material should not deteriorate or lose its brightness.
