Placement
Positioning is crucial for meeting regulatory requirements. Install two-inch-wide retro-reflective strips in alternating red and white, running horizontally along the lower side of your truck or trailer. Ensure that the tape covers at least 50% of the length and sits between 15 and 60 inches above the road for optimal visibility and compliance.
To ensure visibility and improve road safety, this DOT C2 reflective tape should be placed on both sides and the back of the trailer, with no gaps in coverage.
The bottom end of the back of the trailer must also have reflective tape. Additionally, the two top corners of the back of the vehicle require white or silver reflective tape, forming two inverted L-shapes. These L-shapes must be at least 12 inches long on each side. By properly installing reflective tape, you can feel confident that you're doing your part to keep everyone on the road safe.
